4-H at Dirigo Ranch
A Cloverbuds program in York County, ages 5 - 8
This club will cater to "Cloverbuds" who are ages 5 - 8.
This is an introduction to 4-H and activities are created with younger children in mind. Children participating in Cloverbuds do not raise animals for projects or sale/show at local agricultural fairs, but will have the opportunity to learn about livestock during our meetings.
What is 4-H?
"4‑H is delivered by Cooperative Extension—a community of more than 100 public universities across the nation that provides experiences where young people learn by doing. For more than 100 years, 4‑H has welcomed young people of all beliefs and backgrounds, giving kids a voice to express who they are and how they make their lives and communities better."
What We'll Do
In our 4-H program, we hope to utilize the woodlands around us, and our farm, for an enriching experience for our club members. We hope to pick a new focus each season and complete activities relative to the season that are enjoyable and within reach for young children, and within the Cloverbuds cirriculum. Activities may include but are not limited to identifying plants and bugs on hikes, collecting eggs, planting gardens, meeting various livestock, crafts, and cooking together.
Meeting frequency is TBD. A parent or guardian MUST be in attendance for the entire meeting.
